Horses and Trees
Two subjects that interest me a great deal are the environment and horses. It's hard to seperate those two because horse's have been a part of our environment since we lived in caves. Even today in our machine-driven, computer-controlled world, humans feel an innate connection with horses. You can't be with these creatures and not feel instantly more alive. Touching a horse is therapy for whatever ails you.
For a million years horse herds fed early man. Six thousand years ago we began to domesticate them. Horses have fed us, clothed us, transported us, hauled for us and gone to war for us and been brutalized by us. (Horse abuse still happens every day in the USA.) Why do some people seem to take horses and the environment for granted?
