Help Save Trees and Protect Your Identity
Three words: "Electronic Bill Payment". Late last year I finally got off my butt and moved all of my recurring account transactions online. Brokerage, bank, gas, cable, phone, etc. With the exception of SRP (their online system was lame) it was easy to do. And there were no fees whatsoever. Anyhoo, I thought of it this morning while I was balancing my checkbook.
I opted to setup with each company individually. The other option was to setup a bill pay service with your bank.
So now such things as my monthly Cox bill are paid for me automatically. In addition, a few of them even allow me to opt out of receiving my monthly paper statements. So I did that as well. It not only helps save trees but it's safer because I don't have a brokerage statement sitting in my mailbox. Nice one!
