Cameron Popsicle

I have several cites added to my Yahoo! Locations. My brother lives in Ridgefield, CT and my dad is up in Show Low. I'm curious to know what's up in their neck of the woods. Oh and Portland because I used to live there and I am nostalgic. Anyhoo, today Phoenix was colder than Ridgefield and as cold as Portland. |
I park in Structure 7 and each day I walk one mile to my office in SSV. I do this walk at 6:30am. It is still dark out. So far this autumn I have worn nothing but a short sleeve shirt, no jacket. This week the cold snap had me wondering how long I can go without bringing a coat. Truth be known, I have brought a jacket each day this week, but when I park I stuff it in my backpack and go for it.
My strategy as it has cooled down over the past couple of weeks has been to do a few sets of push ups, pull ups and sit ups before leaving my house. This wakes me up but good; gets my heart pumping hard. So far it has worked very well. By the end of my walk my hands are freezing and the skin on my face is like an ice cube. It is not unbearable and as soon as I am inside the building I am able to warm up quickly.
Wednesday evening before leaving SSV I opted once again to put my jacket in my backpack. I headed out the door. Alas, unbeknownst to me the wind was really gusting. Suffices to say it was colder than it was in the morning. Ooops. Well, I walked briskly and made it without going for my jacket. By the time I got to Structure 7 I was a Cameron Popsicle. I felt alive. It's good to feel alive. Yiieee!
