  • OK I Admit It, I Like Phoenix

I sort of had a chip on my shoulder when I moved here in 2004. I was not about stay! Screw that. Phoenix sucks, it has no character, or decent restaurants. It is hot, lots of traffic...waah waah waah! Well I have finally relaxed and learned to appreciate the blessings in my life, many of which have occurred -- you guessed it -- since I ...

  • Happy Easter Everybunny!

It is a gorgeous Easter Sunday in Phoenix. I just got back from brunch with my mom. Called OT because we have been planning to play tennis today. He wants to go to the hockey game first. So we will play this evening. Hope I get to sleep at a decent hour. Oh wait -- Lynda just called as I am writing this and she wants to play now. Yiieee!

  • Chocolate + Milk * (fave MP3s) = Relaxation

How to have fun while being introspective. Make an A-Z list about yourself. So I was listening to some of my favorite songs last tonight while working on my A-Z list. Normally I would be watching TCM or something off TiVo. But I had some song in my head earlier and just had to hear it and-- oh crumb, I have already forgotten ...

  • States I Have Visited

States I have visited (drive-bys and fly-throughs don't count). Yikes! Does this make me a redneck?

  • Merry Christmas Ya'll!

Tiffany and I drove up to Show Low, AZ yesterday to spend Christmas with my dad and her mom. My dad has dial-up. Oh the horror! Seriously though it took me the better part of an hour to create this blog post. Merry Christmas!

  • Remembering Razzle, 22 Years On

Razzle (Nicholas Dingley) was killed 22 years ago while riding in Vince Neil's Ford Pantera. Razzle drummed for Hanoi Rocks, one of my absolute favorite bands. And one of the kewlest rock bands of all time, IMO. Actually, not just IMO. Their fans include members of Mötley Crüe, Metallica, Faster Pussycat and Guns N' Roses. Check them out ...

  • Casa Grande...6 Degrees Cooler than Phoenix

Saturday evening went out to Casa Grande where my mom was playing host to a few of her new neighbors. CG will grow like a weed in the coming years but right now it feels like you're out in the middle of nowhere. Lots of farmland and not a whole lot to do if you aren't retired. And no Trader Joe's or nice restaurants. However, that was not an ...

  • In Memory

Hard for me to believe it has been five years since September 11th, 2001. My life is so much different today than it was then -- something I had not really reflected upon until today. I have had triumphs and I have had setbacks. I have laughed and cried, moved twice, switched jobs, spent time with family, played in the snow, drank beer, ...

  • Metallica Footnote

‡ Had a quick second footnote from my post yesterday but it was way OT (off topic). True story though. Once upon a time I saw a heavy metal show at the historic Orpheum Theatre. I put my words in bold because the show was flippin louD, craZy and X-rated -- like any good 80's metal show was. Duh. However, there was something note-worthy ...
